When to Use The Mold Hot Runner

The hot runner mold is a new structure that replaces the runner of the traditional mold or the three-plate mold with the constant temperature heating state of the runner,so it is not necessary to take out the runner material every time it is formed.We will discuss the timing of using the hot runner from the following four aspects.

Differences in mold structure

In order to form oversized products,a hot runner is required to make the plastic flow evenly,such as: automotive inner linings,home appliance casings,etc.,it is necessary to feed glue at many places at the same time or in time sequence.

When the side feeding is deviated from the center of the injection molding machine,the hot runner feeding will make the structure of the mold simple,the molding is easy,the molding speed is accelerated,the molding time is reduced,and there is no material head.

Disadvantages of three-plate mold

In the three-plate method,the heavy master template must slide on the guide post every time it is shot,so even a new mold is difficult to use,and the mold life is not long.

In the three-plate method,the movement amount of the runner material from the mold is larger than the movement amount of the platen required to take out the molded product from the mold in each ejection.

Conditions for Using Hot Runner

1. It is used when the glue is fed from the ejector side,or when a long vertical flow path is required.

2. Eliminates problems caused by too long slugs.

3. For some large products or products that allow eccentric feeding.

In the method of using the three-plate mold,the mother plate must be moved to take out the material head.If the hot runner molding method is used,the mold opening movement can shorten the movement necessary to remove the material head.Therefore,the three-plate mold must be produced with a large molding machine.When the hot runner is used,a small molding machine can be small molding machine can be used instead.

Difficult to form objects such as: hith viscosity,low viscosity,high forming temperature,hot runner system can solve these problems.

As a simple example,if cold slug accounts for 68% of the scrap rate(at the time of manufacture,1 kg of material can only produce 320g of product,and the remaining 680g is cold slug).Although the cold slug can still be recycled,due to the influence of manpower and the mixing ratio of recycled materials,in order to maintain normal operation,some cold slugs must be accumulated,resulting in the retention of funds.

During high-speed injection molding

High-speed injection molding not only improves the molding efficiency,but also is indispensable for the molding of thick and thin meat such as cups and containers.

For some shallow products with large quantities,such as CD shells and small particle products,it only needs to increase the clamping force by 15%,and with the same injection time,the output can be increased by 80%.

Environmental protection and efficiency of hot runner

Since the hot runner does not generate “garbage”,it does not matter how to deal with “garbage”.The so-called “garbage” means the waste of resources.The hot runner system is a low-carbon product and does not have any environmental impact factors.

It doen not occupy the space of the storage material head,and there is no problem of crushing noise and deterioration.

Due to the wide variety of plastics and different colors,it is often necessary to classify and dehumidify,dry,and seal storage due to the accumulation of material heads.At the same time,the noise must be generated due to crushing,which affects the tranquility,and the poor working environment affects the morale of employees.
