1. Mold base
The base of the mold is the fundamental part of the injection mold, supporting the structure and function of the entire mold. It is usually made of high-strength metal materials, such as steel or aluminum alloy, to ensure the stability and durability of the mold. The main components of the mold base include:
Mold base plate (bottom plate): The mold base plate is the bottom of the mold base, usually connected to the fixed plate of the injection molding machine. It has highly precise planes and hole positions for installing other components of the mold.
Guide pillar and guide sleeve: The guide pillar and guide sleeve form the guiding system of the mold, ensuring accurate positioning and movement of the mold during the injection molding process. The guide pillar is installed on the bottom plate of the mold, while the guide sleeve is installed on the mold.
Mold support plate: The mold support plate is located between the mold bottom plate and the upper part of the mold, used to support the weight of the mold and disperse injection pressure.
Positioning pins and positioning rings: Positioning pins and positioning rings are used to ensure accurate positioning of the mold and prevent displacement or misalignment during the injection molding process.
2. Injection system
The injection system is the part that injects molten plastic material into the mold cavity, including some key components and connecting pipes of the injection molding machine. The main components of the injection system include:
Hopper and feeding port: The hopper is used to load plastic particles, and the feeding port is connected to the hopper and the injection machine to transport plastic materials to the heating and melting area of the injection machine.
Heating cylinder and screw: The heating cylinder is responsible for heating plastic particles to melt them into a molten state. The screw rotates in the heated plastic, pushing the molten plastic into the mold cavity.
Nozzles and nozzles: The nozzle connects the screw and the mold, responsible for injecting molten plastic into the mold cavity. The nozzle can adjust the injection pressure and speed as needed.
3. Cooling system
The cooling system is used to cool and solidify the molten plastic injected into the mold, which affects the quality and production cycle of the final product. The main components of the cooling system include:
Cooling channel: The cooling channel is located inside the mold and is responsible for circulating cooling media (such as water or oil) to lower the mold temperature and accelerate the solidification of the plastic.
Cooling water inlet and drainage outlet: The cooling water inlet is used to introduce cooling water, while the drainage outlet is used to discharge cooled water or medium.
Cooling time controller: The cooling time controller is used to adjust the cooling time to ensure that the molten plastic is fully cooled and cured in the mold.
The structure and components of injection molds work closely together to complete the production process of plastic products. By understanding the functions and roles of each part, one can better understand the working principle and optimization methods of injection molds.
