1, Basic concept of mould
A mold is a tool used to shape other workpieces by processing the shape of raw materials to give them a certain degree of size, shape, and surface accuracy. Molds are widely used in injection molding, die-casting, stamping, forging and other processes, and are indispensable and important tools in the manufacturing industry.
2, Classification of moulds
Classified by purpose:
Plastic molds: mainly used for injection molding, making various plastic products, such as plastic boxes, bottles, etc.
Die casting mold: used in die casting technology to make metal parts, such as automotive parts, electronic components, etc.
Stamping mold: suitable for stamping technology, manufacturing metal sheet parts, such as car bodies, home appliance shells, etc.
Classified by structure:
Single station mold: can only process one workpiece at a time, suitable for producing products with smaller batches.
Multi station mold: capable of processing multiple workpieces at once, improving production efficiency, suitable for large-scale production.
Classified by molding method:
Pressure mold: By applying pressure, the raw materials are formed into the desired shape, including die-casting molds, stamping molds, etc.
Injection mold: Injecting molten plastic into the mold cavity and solidifying it through cooling to produce plastic products.
Classified by material:
Metal molds: usually made of steel and other metals, with strong wear resistance, suitable for high-strength and large-scale production.
Non metallic molds, such as ceramic molds and plastic molds, are suitable for production scenarios with special requirements.
Classified by processing technology:
CNC mold: processed using CNC machine tools, with high accuracy, suitable for molds with complex shapes.
Traditional molds: Using traditional processing methods, the cost is relatively low and suitable for molds with simple shapes.
3, Application fields of moulds
Automobile manufacturing industry: The manufacturing of automotive components cannot be separated from various molds, such as die-casting molds for engine cylinder blocks, stamping molds for vehicle bodies, etc.
The electronics industry: The manufacturing of the shells and components of electronic products such as mobile phones and computers requires the use of precision plastic and metal molds.
The home appliance industry: The manufacturing of the outer shell and internal components of household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners cannot be separated from corresponding molds.
In the aerospace field, high-precision and high-strength metal molds are required for aircraft engine components, spacecraft components, etc.
Medical device manufacturing: The production of various medical devices also requires the use of molds, such as syringes, medical utensils, etc.
