The Composition of an Injection Mold
According to its function, the basic structure of injection mold can be divided into seven parts: forming parts, pouring system, guiding mechanism, ejection device, side parting and core-pulling mechanism, cooling and heating system and exhaust system.
1. Molding parts
It refers to the parts of the mold cavity, mainly including: punch, die, core, forming rod, forming ring and insert parts.
2. Pouring system
It refers to the plastic flow channel in the mold from the injection molding machine nozzle to the cavity. The common gating system is composed of the main stream, the diversion channel, the gate, the cold material hole and so on.
3. Guide mechanism
In the plastic mold, there are mainly positioning, guiding, bearing a certain side pressure, to ensure the accuracy of the dynamic and fixed mold closing. The mold closing guide mechanism is composed of guide post, guide sleeve or guide hole (directly opened on the template), positioning cone, etc.
4. Ejection device
It mainly plays the role of pushing out the parts from the die, which is composed of a push rod or a push plate, a push plate, a push rod fixing plate, a reset rod and a pull rod.
5. Side parting and core-pulling mechanism
Its function is to take off the lateral punch or pull out the lateral core, usually including inclined guide column, bend pin, inclined guide slot, wedge tight block, inclined slider, chute, rack and pinion and other parts.
6. Cooling heating system
Its function is to adjust the mold process temperature, composed of cooling system (cooling water hole, cooling water tank, copper pipe) or heating system.
7. Exhaust system
Its function is to eliminate the gas in the cavity, mainly composed of exhaust groove, matching clearance, etc.
